Dog Licensing Information
You must provide a valid rabies vaccination certificate to purchase a license.
- If your dog has been unsexed, you must provide proof from your veterinarian clinic to receive the reduced license fee.
- New Owners – Any person becoming the owner of any dog 4 months of age or older after the 1st day of March or owning a dog that becomes 4 months of age after the 1st of March may obtain a license at the original rate, without penalty.
- Senior Citizens (owners 60 years and older) – License fees will be $5.00 for seniors who have their dog spayed or neutered and purchased prior to March 1st of each year. Beginning March 1st, senior rates increase to $10.00. There is no discount for dogs that are not spayed or neutered.
- Licenses may be purchased all year by mail or in person at the Saginaw County Treasurer’s Office, 111 S. Michigan Avenue; Saginaw County Animal Care Center, 5615 Bay Rd; or most Saginaw County veterinarians. Most local treasurers also sell licenses between December 1st and February 28th.

- $25.00 IF PURCHASED ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 28th
- $50.00 IF PURCHASED ON OR AFTER MARCH 1st
- $12.00 IF UNSEXED ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 28th
- $24.00 ON OR AFTER MARCH 1st
